Problem
The client wanted to create a robust database for their vendors and employees. It would allow them to manage all daily operations, including HR, training, contracts and controlling the work of all branches.
Results
Data inconsistency has been eliminated. Decentralized data is now accessible from one system. Accessing the required information is now 3x faster. The efficiency of work for over 140 employees increased with the use of the developed web panel.
Technical Objective
DHL was facing the issue of decentralized data storage. Information on training, certificates and fleet was stored in various physical locations. The data input took place from multiple locations that were not communicating with each other. Due to the size of the database and the difficulty in the retrieval of information, they needed a system to contain all the data in one place.
Technical Solution
Based on agreed user scenarios and system specifications, we created a dedicated web app.
Using Java to build the panel and PostgreSQL for the database was our choice for a technological stack.
Technical Strategy
We interconnected various databases, so the information on: various subcontractors, certificates, training, and fleet are all accessible from the app. We created access levels for users according to their credentials to reduce the need to enter extensive amounts of unnecessary data. We also integrated the system with Active Directory.
